Samia Abbass (she/they) is a California native and transplant to the Green Mountains. She completed her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Goddard College, where she built her own curriculum focused on multicultural practices in counseling. Samia approaches therapy with an integrative and holistic lens, weaving together mindfulness, nature, art, play, movement, and neurobiology, and uses modalities that are informed by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and an understanding of how trauma impacts the body and mind. In addition to being a community mental health practitioner, they have a background in restorative and social justice and local nonprofit work. Samia loves being part of the vibrant community of the Brattleboro area, and enjoys travel, listening to music, reading, being outdoors, and cooking in her free time.

Eric Hebert is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in primary and acute care. His experience is drawn from over 30 years of direct patient care as an emergency room nurse, pediatric nurse practitioner at Boston Children's Hospital Medical ICU, Air Force nurse practitioner, and pediatric nurse practitioner at Shriner's Hospitals for Children Burn Unit. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Eric worked at Boston MedFlight as a flight paramedic/critical care transport specialist providing care to the sickest and most seriously injured patents in New England. He now brings this experience to your child within the primary care environment. As a pediatric nurse practitioner, Eric specializes in the care of children through young adult ages (0-21), covering assessment, testing, and treatment including prescriptions as needed.

Dr. Lesage-Horton completed her undergraduate training and medical school at the University of Vermont graduating from medical school in 2009. She completed her pediatric residency at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital with the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, MI.“I am excited to join the team at Brattleboro Primary Care to continue to provide excellent care for children in the Brattleboro area. I love to watch children and families grow while guiding them through developmental milestones. Caring for a newborn and then watching that newborn become a toddler and then school age child while both the child and parent gain confidence in their roles, is the best part of pediatrics.”
Dr. Lesage-Horton is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Vermont Medical Society. She lives in Brattleboro with her husband, Mark Horton, with their 3 children, labradoodle, and chickens. When not working, she enjoys hiking and skiing with her family as well as gardening

Dr. Elizabeth Richards is originally from New Orleans, LA and moved to Vermont after completing medical school training at Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and has been practicing at Brattleboro Primary Care Pediatrics since 2007. She enjoys having the opportunity to take care of children of all ages, from newborn to adolescence.
Dr. Richards is the medical director for Windham Southeast Supervisory Union and recently has enjoyed starting a clinic at Brattleboro Union High School, working in conjunction with the school nurses to increase medical access and provide care for PCHP patients in the school setting.
In her free time, Dr. Richards enjoys spending time outdoors, playing tennis, traveling and reading.

Kelle Shutter, MD earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She attained further training in Pediatric Medicine at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital/ Maricopa Medical Center Pediatric Residency Program. She has worked for almost 8 years in Pediatric Urgent Care at both Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Seattle Children’s Hospital and spent the 2.5 years prior to moving to Brattleboro working as a primary care Pediatrician at a private practice in Seattle, WA.Dr. Shutter’s clinical interests include general pediatrics, newborn and infant care, early childhood development, breastfeeding medicine, sleep medicine, and treatment and prevention of injury and illness. “I believe very strongly in the importance of practicing evidence-based, cost-effective medicine. I adore my patients and enjoy working with their families to keep them as healthy and happy as possible, watching them grow both physically and developmentally is the most special part of my job. I strive to be the type of Pediatrician I want for my own children.”
Dr. Shutter lives with her husband, their two sons, their Newfoundland dog and two cats. They enjoy many outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and camping. She is an avid gardener and also enjoys cooking and making soap.
